A NEW PARISIAN ‘SUPPER CLUB’ A STONE’S THROW FROM BASTILLE SET INSIDE A HISTORIC 19TH CENTURY BUILDING DESIGNED BY GUSTAVE EIFFEL, THE PACHAMAMA (FORMERLY THE BARRIO LATINO) BRINGS PLENTY OF LATIN AMERICAN SOUL, AND ACCORDING TO THE TIME, RECALLS THE ‘GYPSET’ SPIRIT OF THE LOST CORNERS OF PARADISE FROM TULUM TO THE HEAT OF PUNTA DEL ESTE, AS WELL AS THE EFFERVESCENCE OF THE FAVELAS OF RIO AND THE PALERMO OF BUENOS AIRES.

INSPIRED BY THE MYTHS AND SACRED SYMBOLS OF PRE-COLOMBIAN POPULATIONS AND INFLUENCED BY THE LATIN TRADITIONS OF THE NEW WORLD, THERE REMAINS, IN THIS NEO-VINTAGE COLONIAL ABODE, ALL THE SOUL OF THE MADRE TIERRA, VENERATED DIVINITY, MOTHER OF NATURE AND OF ALL BEINGS. FROM 5PM, PACHAMAMA ACTIVATES OUR CHAKRAS AND INVITES US TO THE MOST BEAUTIFUL OF PARTIES IN A VENUE WHERE GUESTS CAN HAVE A DRINK, DINE AND DANCE, LATE INTO THE NIGHT.

RECENTLY TAKEN OVER BY PHILIPPE FATIEN, THE CLUB, RESTAURANT AND COCKTAIL BAR REINVENTS THE SPIRIT OF CELEBRATION AND HAS INVITED CYRIL PERET, ART DIRECTOR AND CREATOR OF PLACES TO PARTY, TO CREATE A NEW IDENTITY AND INTERIORS.

WITH THE STAGE DESIGNER LUDOVIC MESSAGER, THE TRIO BREATHES LIFE BACK INTO THE ICONIC SPOT OF 3,000M2.

THE ALLURING DÉCOR, INSPIRED BY SOUTH AMERICA, IS AS GLAMOROUS AS IT IS BOHEMIAN AND IS AN INVITATION TO TRAVEL THE WORLD. HAVING DELVED INTO NEIGHBOURHOODS OF RIO TO MEXICO, AND EVEN SOUTH AFRICA, CYRIL PERET AND LUDOVIC MESSAGER HAVE BROUGHT BACK THE MOST BEAUTIFUL VINTAGE PIECES, INCLUDING MERRY-GO-ROUNDS, RELIGIOUS MEMORABILIA AND SHRINES DEVOTED TO THE VIRGIN MARY.

UNDER THE METAL BEAMS OF THE GREAT ATRIUM, THE LUMINOUS LETTER-SHAPED LIGHT BULBS NOW LIGHT UP A NAME THAT IS SACRED: PACHAMAMA.

THE BALLROOM WITH ITS WALLS HOLDING UP A TIN CEILING OF VICTORIAN CORRUGATED IRON SHEETS, AND BLUEISH FIXTURES, HAS A HANDFUL OF SALONS THAT COME WITH A LIVED-IN FEEL RECALLING NEW YORK SPEAKEASY BARS. THE LATINO TOUCH AT THE BAR WITH ITS ENAMELLED CROCKERY, CACTUS AND LONG CLAY COUNTER WITH A GUERILLERO AIRPLANE CABIN FLOATING ABOVE IT, CREATE THE PERFECT MELTING POT.

OVERLOOKING THE DANCEFLOOR, THE ATRIUM’S SPRINKLE OF STORM-LAMPS, TREASURES FROM SHIPS WITH RED AND ORANGE FLAMES, PUNCTUATE THE DECOR. A VINTAGE ELECTRIC MERRY-GO-ROUND REVEALS THE LATEST INSTAGRAMMABLE SPOT AT THE TOP OF A MONUMENTAL ART DECO STAIRCASE THAT TAKES GUESTS UP TO THE RESTAURANT.

LINED BY LOUVERED SHUTTERS OF A THOUSAND COLOURS, THE RESTAURANT BRIMS WITH ENERGY AND WARMTH, AND AFFORDS A BIRD’S EYE-VIEW OF THE DANCEFLOOR. THE TABLES, MADE FROM OLD SINGER SEWING MACHINES, SET WITH SEATING MADE FROM RECYCLED COFFEE SACS FROM BRAZIL, MAKE UP SOME OF THE UPCYCLING, DURABLE SPIRIT THAT RUNS THROUGH PACHAMAMA.

AGAINST A RETRO 50S FLOWER PRINT BACKDROP, HIDES A SECRET DINING ROOM ADORNED WITH BRIC-À-BRAC SOURCED ALL OVER, WROUGHT IRON ROUND TABLES AND ARMCHAIRS, OLD TRANSISTORS, LONGCASE CLOCKS AND VINTAGE SIDEBOARDS, ADDING A TOUCH OF AUTHENTICITY.

EVERY NIGHT, THE RESTAURANT OFFERS LATIN AMERICAN SPECIALITIES: SPICY CORN COUP, PERUVIAN CEVICHE, NIKKEI TUNA TATAKI, JALAPENOS POPPERS, QUESADILLAS AND VEGAN MEXICAN SALAD TO START.

THE MAINS INCLUDE: IBERICA PLUMA, SPARE RIBS MARINATED IN SPICES, A BEEF CHURRASCO OR MEAT PARILLADA TO SHARE, WHICH TAKE YOU STRAIGHT TO BUENOS AIRES OR MEXICO. MUST-TASTES ARE THE CHOCOLATE CHURROS, AN ALTERNATIVE TO THE DELICIOUS BABA DE CUBA.

AND PARA BEBER, THE DRINKS MENU OFFERS WINES FROM FRANCE, ARGENTINA AND CHILE.

BORDERED BY A SPECTACULAR VEGETAL WALL, THE PACHAMAMA PATIO IS THE OTHER PERFECT SPOT FOR DINNER, TO HAVE A DRINK OR JUST TO HAVE A BREAK.

LINED BY PLANKS OF WOOD FROM OLD ANIMAL CARRIAGES SOURCED IN BRAZIL, LIT BY UPCYCLED LIGHTS FROM AN OLD MERRY-GO-ROUND AND SHRINES TO THE VIRGIN MARY, THE PLACE EVOKES THE SOFT SUMMER NIGHTS OF LATIN AMERICAN CITIES. WICKER ARMCHAIRS WITH CAMOUFLAGE UPHOLSTERY ARE SET AROUND ROUND TABLES, WHERE GUESTS TOAST AND DINE TO LIFE AND LOVE.

CLAD IN WOOD, AND DOTTED WITH SETTEES AND ARMCHAIRS MADE FROM UPCYCLED COFFEE SACS PLACED AROUND LOW TABLES. THE SECOND FLOOR TAKES YOU TO THE BEST BARS OF CARTAGENA OR LA PAZ. BEHIND THE BAR, ADORNED WITH FLOWER MOULDINGS AND FRESCOES, BARMEN DRESSED FOR THE OCCASION SHAKE COCKTAILS OF TEQUILA AND MAGIC POTIONS PERFECT FOR CHILLING UNTIL LATE.

IN THE SAME CALIENTE SPIRIT, THE PACHAMAMA OFFERS A SELECTION OF TAPAS: SEABREAM CEVICHE, GUACAMOLE AND CORN CHIPS, JALAPENOS POPPERS AND PICCATA MILONGA (MINCED BEEF) TO SHARE INTO LATE IN THE NIGHT. THE SAME MENU IS AVAILABLE IN THE BALLROOM.

THINK OLD TELEVISIONS, MAMA STYLE COOKERS, CHESTERFIELD SETTEES AND A BIG AMERICAN BILLIARD TABLE, WHICH COME TOGETHER TO CREATE THE PACHA SPIRIT. ON THE COUNTER, A HUGE GOLDEN OCTOPUS RECALLS VINTAGE CHINATOWN STYLE AND SETS THE SCENE FOR THE SHABBY-CHIC LIVING AREA, A SORT OF SMART OPIUM DEN AND LUPANAR WHERE TO CHAT THE NIGHT AWAY.

AT NIGHT, RESIDENT DJS OR PLAYLISTS DRESS THE AREA IN A VARIETY OF SOUNDS AND VIBES.

UP ON STAGE, GRINGO DA PARADA, MINISTRE X AND M.BOO, THE FOUNDING COLLECTIVE OF DJS OF THE LEGENDARY FAVELA CHIC CAST A SPELL OVER THE CROWD WITH A MIX OF SOUNDS OF ALL STYLES AND PERIODS. A CHEERY CHAOS WHERE SEU JORGE, PRINCE, LEE PERRY, MIGOS, LES KINKS, RAY BARRETO, LCD SOUNDSYSTEM, KENDRICK LAMAR AND DAFT PUNK ALL COLLIDE HARMONIOUSLY.

AND ALL TO BE ENJOYED EVERY NIGHT FROM 5PM.

THE COLLECTIVE OF ARTISTS GRAFF’ART WAS TASKED WITH CREATING PACHAMAMA’S FRESCOES, BRINGING AN AZTEC AND SHAMANIC SPIRIT, BRINGING NEW SPIRITUAL ENERGY TO THE ENTRANCE OF THE CLUB AND RESTAURANT. THE GRAFFITI ARTISTS TAKE OVER THE LOFTY CORRIDORS THAT REACH UP TO THE WINDOWS LOOKING OUT ONTO THE STREET, IN THE STYLE OF BATSH AND NACIO.

WITH REFERENCES TO KUNDALINI, WITH JAGUAR FIGURES AND WOLF HEADS, AMERICAN-INDIAN HEADPIECES, AND AZTEC SYMBOLS, THE PACHAMAMA IS THE PLACE FOR BEAUTIFUL SOULS TO COME AND MINGLE.
